Hydrogeology
The water presence in underground collectors conduces in most cases to higher electrical conductivity. As it follows, electrical and EM methods, having the resistivity/conductivity as a key parameter, are the main tools for groundwater geophysical investigations. Related to geological features there is a lot of methods and techniques able to produce the variation of this parameter, single or together with other ones, to depth (VES, ERT, VLF, CSAMT, AMT, MT, combined well-surface tomography ) .
Geomathics One can perform geophysical and hydro-geological investigations to:
- Delineate aquifers in porous-permeable rocks
- Delineate aquifers fisural collectors
- Hydro-geological studies (geophysical measurements for groundwater evaluation, mapping different hydro-geological parameters)
- Saline water intrusions
- Evaluate polluted zones of aquifers
- Delineate the flow directions of pollutants
